About Positive Impact International
At Positive Impact International, we believe every young person deserves a safe place to land, caring adults who believe in them, and the opportunity to build a brighter future.
As the Lead Agency for Safe Place in Gwinnett County, we provide immediate support, emergency shelter, and long-term guidance for teens and young adults facing homelessness, family conflict, abuse, neglect, and other crisis situations.
What makes our approach unique is that we go beyond emergency intervention. Youth in our care are welcomed into carefully appointed homes staffed by dedicated House Parents who provide stability, encouragement, and a family-like environment during a difficult season of life. Through holistic therapy, mentorship, financial literacy education, academic support, career guidance, and connections to community resources, we help young people move from crisis toward confidence and independence.
Positive Impact was founded by mother and daughter team Linda and Tami Wilder, whose passion for serving vulnerable children and families spans decades. Long before the organization was established, the Wilder family volunteered together at a local children's home, developing a deep commitment to youth facing difficult circumstances. Tami went on to build a career training foster parents, while following the passing of her husband, Linda dedicated years of her life to serving as a foster parent herself.
Originally founded to provide arts-based programs, enrichment opportunities, and community support for underserved families, Positive Impact evolved as Linda and Tami recognized a growing need among vulnerable teens experiencing homelessness and instability. Their commitment to meeting that need ultimately led the organization to become the Lead Agency for Safe Place in Gwinnett County.
Today, thousands of young people across metro Atlanta face housing instability, family disruption, and uncertainty about their future. Too often, these youth are overlooked, despite being our future coworkers, neighbors, parents, and community leaders.
At Positive Impact International, we believe every young person deserves more than survival. They deserve the opportunity to heal, grow, and thrive. Through compassion-forward care, meaningful relationships, and strong community partnerships, we are helping vulnerable youth find safety, discover their potential, and build hopeful futures.
Because every young person deserves someone who refuses to give up on them.
