Our Programs
Positive Impact International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending youth homelessness by providing safe housing, supportive services, and pathways to independence for vulnerable young people. Since our founding, we have been committed to serving homeless and at-risk youth ages 12–21 with compassion, dignity, and a trauma-informed approach.
We believe that every young person deserves a safe place to turn in moments of crisis. Through housing, counseling, education, workforce development, and life skills training, we create opportunities for youth to heal, grow, and thrive.
Why Our Safe Place Homes Are More Than a Shelter
-
A Real Home, Not an Institution - Our Safe Place Homes are located in regular neighborhoods, not group homes or dorms. Each home is led by trained house parents who live onsite and provide structure, mentorship, and unconditional care — creating a sense of belonging and stability.
-
Wraparound Support - Youth receive 24/7 case management, therapy, education support, and life-skills training, including cooking, budgeting, and job readiness. We address every part of their well-being — emotional, mental, physical, and financial.
-
Trauma-Informed & Relationship-Based - Our team is TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention) and NTDC trained, ensuring every interaction helps rebuild trust and emotional safety. This approach empowers youth to heal from trauma, develop healthy relationships, and make confident choices.
-
Preparing for Independence - Each youth works through personalized goals that lead toward independence — whether completing school, finding employment, or moving into our Launch Pad Apartments for transitional living. They don’t just leave with shelter; they leave with a plan, a purpose, and the confidence to succeed.
-
Community Collaboration - Through partnerships with Gwinnett County Public Schools, DFCS, YMCA, QuikTrip, HOPE Worldwide, Sugarloaf Urgent Care, and local businesses, we connect youth to a community of care that extends beyond our walls.
